During this week I got to know from a friend that Richard M Stallman is visiting Sri Lanka during next week and he’ll be conducting guest lecture sessions at University of Peradeniya on 16th and SLIIT on 18th. He is the founder of the Free software movement and Foundation and is considered to be the father figure of the movement. He is also famous for initiating the GNU project in which GNU/Linux is a just a milestone for writing the GNU C Compiler and Emacs Editor. In my view this is one of the greatest moments in the short history of Sri Lankan Free software movement. So I look forward for this event.
